Review: Pinkly Ever After

Hey there honey bears!  It's time for my first product review!  Wahoo!

Today I'll be reviewing my latest order from one of my favorite brands:  Pinkly Ever After!

For those of you who don't know, Pinkly Ever After is "a brand for girls who are curiously drawn to light and happy pastel color combinations based on different types of pink."  Designer Robin and her partner and model Leah like to think of themselves as the Magical Fairy Godmothers of all of the magical girls all over the world!  In the Pinkly Ever After Shop, they sell "Pinkly Ever After originals, Japanese select shop items and vintage findings that came right out of the fairytale book."

You can find out more about PEA (and the quotes used above) on their website!

Actually, you see a Pinkly Ever After item every time you visit my blog!  Where?  Check out my sidebar image!

It's the Magical Lalala Star Princess dress!  As you can see, I have the pink version.  ^^  This dress was my first PEA purchase, and I love it to pieces!  I've worn it twice so far, and people are always impressed by it.

For my most recent order, I ordered these items:

Princess Crystal Ribbon in Mint:

And the Candy Chick Jacket in Pink!  I apologize, the stock photo seems to have been taken down!  But let's get on with the review!

They always send their stuff in pink packaging!  Too cute!

The first thing out of the packages are the Princess Crystal Ribbons!  Check 'em out!

I love the fabric they're made out of and the jewel in the center is so adorable! The bows have an alligator clip on the bottom to put into your hair.  Most bows have the clip on the back of the bow, but I'm glad these don't so they'll stand up better!  But as you can see, one of them is a little wonky.  I tried moving it around and tugging on the edges but that just seems to be the way it was made.

You can see the difference in the quality between the bows on the back as well.  The first ribbon is impeccably well made, and has a very clean finish.  The bow above it on the other hand seems to be a little thrown together.  It was like they were at the end of their fabric and wanted to use every last bit of it.  I'm all for being economical, and it's not a huge deal, but I can't help but be a little disappointed in the difference in quality between the two.  I don't think it's all too noticeable when you're wearing them together, but when you're examining them together for a review it's hard to miss.

I wore the well-made bow last Monday for a little pick me up, and here's how it looked!

It's so perky!  I'm very happy with the way this looks.  I've tried to clip in other bows that I have to a half updo, but they tend to sit flat on my head rather than be obnoxious and perky, which is what I wanted from this product.  I love the color as well.  Mint green goes so well with pink, and I think the color is very true to the stock photos they posted.

Overall I give the Princess Crystal Ribbons a 4/5 stars.  I had to take a star off for the wonkiness of one of the bows, but there was nothing wrong with the other, and they are both sturdy either way.

I want these in every color. XD

Before I get to the main event (the jacket), let me show you the little freebies that came with my order!

First we have some stick on nails!  I've never seen this kind of design for nails before!  It's super cute!

The instructions are all in Korean, so I'm glad there are pictures!  I think you stick the nail sticker on, and then cut off the excess material on the ends.  I'll post a photo on my instagram when I try them out!

At first I didn't know what this was, but after taking it out of its little plastic sleeve I discovered it was a STICKER!  Rilakkuma is adorable, but I didn't have anything Rilakkuma until I received this!  It's super cute, and I put it on my laptop along with all of my other cute stickers.

PEA always includes a few pieces of candy with their products, and since I have a sweet tooth, I definitely appreciate that!  The candy I got in my last order was muscat flavored and super delicious.  This time, it's a strawberry milk candy!  The little cow on the package is too cute!

Here's what the actual candy looks like.  Heart shaped!  I tried one and it has a nice strawberry flavor, and is slightly creamy.  I have the other in my backpack for an emergency. xP

The last freebie I received is a photo card with a lovely note on the back!  Robin and Leah are so sweet, and it warms my heart to know that they take the time to hand write these.

Here is the front of the card!  Leah is a wonderful model, and their studio is really magical!  This will go in my cute picture collection!

Now, on to the main event:  The Candy Chick Jacket!  I really wish I could've found the stock photo...Leah looked wonderful modeling this.  Anyway, let's take a look!

The jacket came wrapped up safely in a plastic sleeve, all nicely folded.

As you can see from the tag, this item isn't a PEA original, but a resale item.  I think it's pretty cool that they have a variety of different items in their store, but they always make sure they're cute and magical!

One thing that surprised me about the jacket though...when I opened the plastic sleeve, the jacket had a very distinct smell.  Like a very strong perfume or something.  I'm not sure whether PEA sprayed it with something, but nothing in my previous order had this scent to it so I'm assuming it was from the previous owner.  But, like most resale items, the smell came out after a wash, so no worries!

Here's an outfit I put together with the jacket!

I LOVE this jacket!!  It makes me feel like a 90's pop star. XD  I did my hair in low pigtails, and it reminded me of old school Britney.  As well as being super cute and stylish, this jacket is also very comfortable and warm.  I felt like I was wearing a hug!  I've also worn this to a few sleepovers at my neighbor's apartment, and it goes so well with my pink pajamas.  I'll be using this in a photo shoot later so keep an eye out!

Here's a happy Martha with her new jacket!

And as you can see, I'm wearing my rose quartz necklace that Natsume so kindly bought for me at All-Con.  I thought it gave the whole outfit an eclectic look.

The Candy Chick Jacket gets a 5/5 stars from me!

The overall rating for this order is a 4.5 out of 5, only losing points for the one wonky bow.

Pinkly Ever After is a wonderful, magical shop that is perfect for anyone who loves cute and pastel colored fashion!  Their most recent collection includes some more sophisticated wear in lovely colors like peach and a light salmon pink.

Please go check out their store!

Go support their amazing art and have fun spreading your magical cuteness to the world!

Thanks so much for reading, and I'll see you in my next post!

xoxo

Anime Review: Is the Order a Rabbit?

Hey there honey bears!
Sorry for the long wait, but I'm back with another post!
I started watching a new anime recently called ご注文はうさぎですか? (Gochūmon wa Usagi Desu ka?) or "Is the Order a Rabbit?"

Let me tell you right now, it's flippin' adorable!!

Here's the plot synopsis from Anime News Network:
"High school freshman Cocoa Hoto got lost and bumped into a coffee shop called "Rabbit House" while looking for a boarding house for the upcoming semester of her new school. Luckily, Rabbit House is the boarding house she's looking for, and to return the favor Cocoa starts working at the coffee shop alongside quiet and cool Chino, strong and athletic Rize, plus Chiya and Syaro from Japanese-styled coffee shop Amausaan, as well as the shop mascot rabbit Tippy, who sometimes doesn't quite act like a rabbit...."

Usually I feel that the plot synopsis leaves something out, but this one pretty much hits the nail on the head.  "Is the Order a Rabbit?" is a slice of life style anime centered around middle and high school girls (read: Lolis) who work part time in a cafe.  With slice of life anime, the plot is very simple and isn't as fast paced as other anime genres, but what matters most is not the plot.  It's the characters.  Let's meet them, shall we?

Here we have miss Cocoa (pronounced koh-koh-ah), and she's the main character in this story.  She's got a few of your main character traits of course:  overly excitable, gets along well with everyone, loves pretty much everything, etc.  She has a habit of getting lost frequently, and her special skill is doing math in her head.  She's a hard worker and gets used to the cafe atmosphere quickly.  She thinks of Chino as a little sister and cares for her very much, and also has an obsession with rabbits.  Anything cute and fluffy really.

Next is Chino!  Chino's father owns Rabbit House, the cafe she, Cocoa, and Rize work in.  Chino has a great knowledge of coffee, and she is constantly seen with the cafe's mascot, Tippy, perched on top of her head.  Chino is the youngest of the group, the only one in middle school, and she is a bit shy.  She gets overwhelmed when first meeting Cocoa, but slowly warms up to her and even calls her "Onee-chan" once (but never does it again because Cocoa flips out).  Chino loves animals and cute things, but doesn't react as loudly as Cocoa does.  You can tell she likes something when a blush forms on her cheeks.

The third character we meet is Rize (pronounced Lee-zeh), and she's about the same age as Cocoa.  Her father was a soldier so she keeps up a tough image, carrying a gun around with her, and all of her accessories are in some form of camo.  When she gets put in charge of teaching Cocoa how to work in the cafe, she takes the job very seriously and has Cocoa call her "Sir" during training.  Despite her tough exterior, Rize loves cute things.  She constantly has inner monologues about the other characters and how cute they are, but is quick to hide it so the others won't notice.  She's an interesting character because she flips between the military training she's learned and wanting to be a normal high school girl.

The fourth character we meet is Chiya.  She's in Cocoa's class in school, and her family runs another coffee shop in town that specializes in traditional Japanese sweets.  Her shop also has a mascot, and he's a black rabbit named Anko (pictured here).  She's soft-spoken and kind, but she gets very excitable when she talks about making sweets.  You can see a twinkle in her eye and she becomes a lot more animated whenever she's thinking about it.  A fun quirk of hers is that she doesn't just call the sweets by what they are, but comes up with creative names for them that she thinks are poetic and represent the ingredients...although that sometimes can make it hard for the customer to order since they don't know what all is in the dish. XD

The last of the main characters is Syaro.  There are only two episodes of this anime released, and we haven't met Syaro yet.  I have a hunch that she may work at Chiya's family's coffee shop, or her family may have one of her own.  I'm looking forward to meeting her!

Out of all of the characters, I have to say my favorite is Chiya.  I can definitely relate to her in the creative process, and she has a passion for what she does that gets me excited about it!  Also she's so CUTE.

I just love her bright green eyes.  They match her uniform!

I'm excited for this anime to continue forward, and this is one of the only anime that I have watched while it's currently airing in Japan.  I usually wait until the whole series has finished broadcasting and watch it all in a few sittings...but the previews for this one were too cute to resist!

The Slice of Life genre took me a while to warm up to, but I do enjoy a good fluffy, cute show to make me smile and keep me relaxed when I need it.  Not to mention all of the cafe settings in this show give me ideas for the maid cafe.

Once Syano makes an official appearance, I'll write another post about how the anime is progressing.  I'm so excited!

Have some more cute pictures:

Too much cuteness and moe I'm gonna diiiie...

I hope you liked this post, and I'll scope out some more cute anime to review for y'all!
What genres of anime do you watch?
If you've seen this one, what do you think so far?  Do you like it?

Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your opinions!

See you in my next post!

Outfit: Hello Kitty and Glasses Girl

Hey there honey bears!  I've got another outfit post for ya, full of cute and pink!
I put this together because I got some fun floral glasses at Rue21, and I wanted a quirky outfit to go with them.  Let's go!

Details:
Hello Kitty Shirt:  Target
Floral Glasses:  Rue21
Hello Kitty X Tsuji Nozomi Necklace:  Kittywood Designs
Floral Hair Tie:  Scünci
Hello Kitty Cupcake Ring:  Sam Moon
Bunny Ring:  Kira Kira Entertainment Shop (link coming soon!)

When I saw these glasses at the mall I thought of all of the nerdy Hello Kitty merchandise and knew I wanted to put together a coordinate with them.  Usually all of the merchandise is red and white...but knowing me I had to do it in pink! xP  I like how the glasses are big and squarish, so it gives a rather quirky look, and I added the floral hair bit on the top for extra spunk.  I also love the rings together, isn't the bunny ring just the cutest!?  It's a new favorite of mine.  It was a rainy day when I wore this so I just wore jeans and pink sneakers on the bottom, so I didn't bother to include those in the photos.  The top half is way more fun!

For make up, I did the same look as I did in my First of Spring outfit post:  foundation, pink blush, gold eye shadow with a brown blended at the edges, and some mascara.  Instead of wearing lipstick this time though, I just chose to wear a lip balm.  It's a Minnie Mouse lip balm from Lipsmackers if you'd like to know.  I always love their stuff, cute and practical, with just a little bit of shine!

I thought this outfit was a fun one, and I hope you think so too!  I think glasses are a fun way to accessorize, even if you don't have a prescription!  I'm near sighted though, so I had to wear my contacts under these. XD

That's all for today, but I'm afraid there won't be any new posts over the weekend since I'm going on Choir Tour with my University.  But once I get back, frequent posting will continue as usual, and I promise, it won't be an outfit post next time!  I know I have a few MusiCutes to write up!

Have a good weekend, and I'll see you in my next post!

xoxo
